CT Scan - Abdomen, with contrast

CT (computed tomography) scanning uses special X-ray equipment and powerful computers to produce detailed images. Contrast – a special dye given through an IV – may be used during the test. This dye helps make certain parts of the body easier to see on the scan. An abdominal CT scan can help find the cause of abdominal pain, detect signs of inflammation, infection, injury or disease of the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, stomach, bowels, pancreas, and adrenal glands.
